FUT Hero items are FIFA 23 Coins extremely rare players and are available in certain packs in Ultimate Team. The FUT Heroes cards are given to players who've been a major contributor to the club or who have become an instant favorite like an ex Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-Sung.

Due to their rarity, they are often extremely expensive due to their high demand FIFA 23 Ultimate Team's virtual transfer market, with some such as Yaya Toure being sold for 1.9 millions of FUT coins which a reputable third-party site selling coins rates at just under PS400.

But EA had a mistake and released this game in error, and then flooded the market with an overwhelming amount of these items and saw all of the prices fall rapidly and some players losing as much as the equivalent of 1 million coins in value. This is about PS200 for purchases by a third party.

EA is yet to make a comment on the mistake. But the impact on the market is permanent. A majority, if certainly not all players are losing value, and although the market has slightly recovered following the removal of the pack , and the subsequent lack of supply with FUT Hero items, the loss of coins is permanent.

The players who were able to purchase the pack could have the luckiest of circumstances, however, as the pack was advertised as non-tradeable (meaning it can't be sold in the market for transfer), in past instances when EA has sold a pack with the wrong description usually, they compensate players who bought the original pack. That means some players may receive more than two FUT Hero cards with FUT 23 buy Coins as little as 25,000 coins.
