It's been almost 30 years since the F-150 was featured new in Australian car showrooms, and in mid-2023, the impressive full-size American truck returns. Since full-sized truck sales have tripled in recent years, you'd better get your orders in quickly because many people will be interested in the Ford F-150 for sale in Sydney.

Mid-2023

Ford announced in mid-March 2022 that the company will be reintroducing the F-150 to Aussie showrooms as early as the middle of 2023. Not only will the F-150 be featured, but it will be the full-sized American pick-up truck.

Ford will offer two crew cab grades: the XLT and the Lariat. The two trucks appear similar but have differences in technology and cosmetics. For example, the XLT features an 8" Sync4 touchscreen display, while the Lariat has a 12" display. The XLT has 17" alloy wheels, while the Lariat has 18". In short, the Lariat has everything the XLT has but bigger (and for a slightly higher price tag).

Features of the 2023 F-150

The 2023 F-150 features a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine and 10-speed transmission that offers an incredible 4.5-tonne towing capacity. Military-grade aluminium alloy is used for the body, and high-strength steel comprises the frame. The truck is built to go through anything the outback can throw at it.

The truck is loaded with standard safety features and cutting-edge innovative technology to help keep you and your passengers safe while on the road. These features include but aren't limited to:

  • Collision assist
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Rearview camera
  • Auto high beams
  • Blind-spot monitoring
  • Lane-keep assist

How Long Has the F-150 Been Gone?

The last time the F-150 was featured in an Aussie showroom was 1993, while the F-250 and F-350 disappeared in 2006. Since then, Ford has been focusing on their Ranger Ute, a slightly smaller truck with a shorter tray.

Where Can I Find a Ford F-150 for Sale in Sydney?

Numerous dealerships across the country will begin offering the F-150 at launch. For more information and news, you can sign up with dealerships online to receive the latest updates from Ford.com.au. The prices haven't been announced but will likely vary by state.

The F-150's most significant competition will be the Ram 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado. These two trucks have been right-hand drive manufactured by ASV and GMSV for the past several years and are already highly established.

Remanufactured for Aussie Roads

The F-150 won't be built for a right-hand drive from the Ford factory. Instead, the truck will be remanufactured by RMA Automotive Holdings. RMA worked in conjunction with Ford engineers on the conversion, so every F-150 sold locally will be fully ADR-certified and come with the brand's five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty.

It's been too long since the F-150 towered above other trucks in showrooms, and soon we won't have to wait any longer. Come mid-2023, the XLT and the Lariat will be available for purchase alongside Ford's Ranger Ute line across the continent.
