Russia is heavily involved in Libya, and a large number of mercenaries arrive: send jammers to fight Turkish drones from jammers's blog

According to a report from Russia on August 20, a convoy was found in Libya, including vehicles built by the Belarusian Minsk truck factory equipped with Groza-S anti-UAV electronic war station. This system can be used in Libya. On the battlefield, armed UAVs controlled by Turkey were directly "shot down" mainly through drone jammer to force them to crash. It is speculated that the equipment belongs to Russian "Wagner" mercenaries. According to the Russian side, a large number of Russian mercenaries are currently gathering in the Sirte area and have used a powerful anti-UAV system to ensure the safety of Russian "Wagner" mercenaries.

When Turkey’s military assistance helped the Libyan government forces, attacked General Haftar’s leadership of the Libyan National Army, and changed the battlefield situation, Turkey believed that the new balance of power that benefited Libya would be perpetuated by the Turkish army’s participation in the war. At the same time, with the support of the Turkish army, the Libyan government forces threatened to retake the strategically important Sirte port and the Jufra air base to protect the hundreds of kilometers of oil pipelines of the Libyan government forces. The Libyan government forces believe that these two important military objectives must be retaken to ensure that oil revenue flows smoothly into the national budget. The Turkish coalition also expected that the recovery and recovery of Erte would be completed within a few weeks or even days, but this was not achieved due to the strong reaction of countries with major interests in Libya.

France and the United Arab Emirates issued statements opposing the Libyan government forces marching into Sirte. Egypt is more specific. President Abdul Fatah Al Sisi said that any movement by the Libyan government forces to seize Sirte and Jufra is a red line in Cairo. He visited Egyptian military units on the Libyan border and held meetings with Libyan tribal leaders to seek their support. Later he obtained the consent of the Egyptian Parliament to send troops abroad.

Turkish Defense Minister visits Libya

Libyan Prime Minister Fayez Saraji stated that the Libyan government forces are determined to drive the Libyan National Army and Russian mercenaries led by General Haftar out of the country. These mutual condemnations took at least half a month, but neither side launched a large-scale attack.

At the same time, Turkey continued to strengthen its position as an air base under the control of the Libyan government forces. It installed the Hawker anti-aircraft missile at the Vatia base near the Tunisian border. Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar visited Tripoli on August 19 and had extensive dialogue with the Libyan authorities.

The Libyan National Army believes that if the Libyan government forces pursue their goal of occupying Sirte, more bloodshed will inevitably occur. Among them, Russia is working hard to ensure a ceasefire. The Turkish and Libyan government forces believe that if a ceasefire agreement is to be reached, Haftar will take this opportunity to change the military balance beneficial to him by introducing new mercenaries. Although Turkey was reluctant at first, Russia eventually persuaded Ankara to issue a joint statement announcing a ceasefire on July 22. This may not be considered a mature international agreement, but after the joint statement was issued, the battlefield in Libya has become relatively calm.
