The earliest reference of wooden horses for sale is from 1624, nearly 400 years ago. Decorated toy horses were being sold from some of the villages of Mora as early as the first half of the 19th century. In modern times, the Dala horse has become the symbol of Dalarna, as well as of Sweden in general.
This is handmade. Every Dala horse is unique and the pattern can be slightly different from the photo.
